Dang, nice mix and progression. over all bad ass song

hats off sir

great mix, excellent blend of sounds. The drums were hard hitting and precise, not to mention purposeful and not excessive. Over all very professional sounding. Not much more to say

Thanks a lot! Appreciate the feedback!!

An odd choice of sound files indeed. I have little to nothing to critique on this song due to the fact i am uncertain of the genre or intentions of the song itself. But i enjoyed it all the same.

LemonCrush responds:

Eh, I don't know the genre either. As Miles Davis once said "I just play it...you figure out what to call it"

You have some pipes on you sir, i will give you that if nothing else. One of the main things that struck me from the start was higher notes in your chord, when playing acoustic often times it aids in recording a cleaner over mix to strum down strokes only so the pick is hitting the E string most and off setting the higher e string from ringing and dominating the song. The same chord also felt like it was dragged on a bit too long and used too much through out the song, there are simply variants to chords by method of root note inversion. it keeps the same chord, but gives it a different sound.

I wish the vocals would have switched placed with the volume of the guitar. Whom ever this is singing( be it you or some one else) should make that voice a focal point of the entire song for certain.

Hope i could help in some way =)

Ugh, no one else was supposed to see this...I posted this and thought it was hidden except for from users I invited...

Anyway, yeah, it was a song I wrote with a side project of my old band. My singer, myself, and my drummer started playing together, and I wrote this. Unfortunatly, when we split up, they recorded the song without me.

Now I'm working on a version of it with another NG-er, and wanted them to use this as a guide...this wasn't meant for public consumption lol

Your vocal flange seemed a tad harsh. The bass drum sounded slightly lost in the mix, if you cut off 0-80 hertz in a simple EQ of some kind, it can really aid in bringing some inaudible noise out of the over all mix. Possibly a layered kick could also fix this problem. often times adding a low sin wave bass to the song can really bring some life to empty placed. It seemed that you had amazing drums for rythm, a crystal blip of some kind for the lead, which took the higher range. You had the orchestral chords taking mid along with your vocals in mid as well. That leaves the lower end of the hertz spectrum untouched for the most part, giving it an empty sound in gaps. The drum rhythms were excellent and nothing to be tampered with. You are a talented rapper from what i can tell, and have a good since of word timing. ( which is hard to find )

Hope this helps in some way =)

thanks for the advise i appreciate it

I have few things to point out with this song. However one thing stuck out over anything else. The bass was hard to hear, it was a nice moogish sound, but it was hard to hear and at times due to the lack of tone and presence it had, it was hard to tell if it was on key with the lead. Around the end it seemed like 2'30 ish , a measure felt like it was cut one short before it should have been. Possibly a 3 count rather than 4 as i often mistakenly do that myself from time to time.

Over all good soft tone and the echo was a nice touch. Catchy lead i have to say.

I am unfamiliar with the program you used to create this and its limitations. However i shall try to review it the same as i would any other program.
You were missing something that aids chip tunes in carrying the theme across. That would be chords. If you look back to megaman 3 for example, most if not all of their songs had multi lead chords. Chords being formed by intertwining leads and themes. Even when they were using basic chord progressions and rhythm in said chords they were there to aid in establishing a mode. the bass is generally used for aiding in setting a key, chords with the lead are used for setting the said mode of that key. Your drums were slightly loud in sections and might want to tone them back slightly so it doesn't over power the entire mix itself.

Over all it was a pretty catchy chip tune.

Thanks for your tips!

An excellent piece. I tried my hand at finding this vst a while back and had no luck myself. Its good to see it in action. Over all well balanced use of instruments, good mastering, and crisp sound.

That cyber arp ( if im not mistaken the sound file ) i felt was a tad harsh to be carried on that same note for such a long time. it became bothersome rather quickly, and never varried from its the root note of the song as a whole. Generally circle progressions are a better way to go about game loops.

The orchestral was wonderfully done, crisp clear sounds. Very purposeful and delivering drums really aided in setting a mood for the song as a whole. Nicely done

Soothing and calm, over all mix was good. However it was a little on the repetitive side.
