It sounds like the recordings were peaking, a little mixing should solve that nothing major. It's good to see some one who can finally play guitar on ng lol. When the full version comes out i had better hear altitudes in that solo haha.

Keep it up m8 amazing work.

Very nicely done, the only thing i can see that could use some improvement is the Sound quality. It sounds slightly muddy, try boosting 8-9k hertz and lowering 200-400 where things get muddy. The instrument that cam in around 2;10, i can't tell if its a bad midi trumpet or and bad midi guitar sound. Regardless it brings me back to my younger days with those runescape trumpets. The main harpsichord sound sounds almost exactly like ragnarok prontera fields.

Good work and piece over all, keep up the good work m8. ( and killer 6 string bass on your pic btw)

I hear that gap in loops again, im not sure why i keep hearing that or what program you are using to compose these songs. The whole thing seemed a bit on the repetitive side. that higher few notes that kept repeating through out the song really started to grind on my ears after a while. Still that being said, i'm a fan of the chill mellow style you have. It's like swimming through a pool of ambient funk. very nice aside from a few minor things.

I know it this beat isn't good cuz i made it ab. 5 months ago (thats when I started making beats) thx for opinion, I am to lazzy to correct it and I don't saved the project in FL.

Ahh plat saw/gold saw, it's been too long my old friend. Firstly it sounds like everything you have is in the same channel. Time to copy pasta old reviews ive made.

Every sound is in the same channel from what i can hear, try separating them into a different channel, and assign them to a separate mixer track as well. This will stop allot of the sounds fighting for control over the same chan. If you hear a sound all the sudden get way softer than you intended it when another one is starting to play, this very well may be the answer.

General hertz guide-30-140 give or take, add body to a song. It gives it a flow if you will and helps blend tones and establish a feel. 140 htz to 400 htz this is your tonal bass or the bass that you generally hear that helps set the key or mode of a song. This is also where songs can tend to get muddy if not eqd correctly. mid range 400-2.5k give or take on taste, this is mostly where lower ranged chords go in to set the key in which something is being played. Upper mid, 2.5k -5.3k- Higher chords can be placed in here to help establish a mode of a said key along with leads. If chords are placed here they usually accompany the drums to emphasis the beat or add to syncopation. 5.2k-18k ( not much use going into 19-20k as those simply mud up the mix for the most part) this range is your high hats, harmonic tones of melodies and the crispness of the song all rest in this range.

General mixing tips- You should make sure to leave the unmastered kick below -6 or -8 db, ( depending on genre) that should be the loudest part of the mix, followed by the bass. pads and chords depending on how loud you want them should generally fall under -10 give or take depending on taste
+ 12 db = 400% volume increase.
+ 6db = 200%
+ 1 dB = around 10%
0 dB - No change.
- 6 dB = 50% volume decrease (half the original level).
- 12 dB = 75% volume decrease (to 25% of the original level).

I would also suggest looking into the following vst's and learning how to use them. Sylenth1, z3ta, refx nexus, Native instruments massive.

You used allot of saw sounds. Often times when you over saturate a song with too many of the same type of wave the whole thing begins to turn into indistinguishable sounds or at very least becomes harsh to listen to over a given time. The odd segment starting at 55 if i recall was out of place and seemed rather empty. Along with the chord progression being off canter.

Keep up the work, and ill check in on you again some time to see how you're coming along.

That gated lead was drowning out the entire song. I really couldn't hear much of anything else through out it. Make sure your kick is the loused part of the mix pre master, being around -6 or -8 db. I say this allot but everyting else should fall under the kicks volume, not over it. A little bit of side chaining goes a long way in helping get that kick through other sounds. Im not a fan of the "used on 80% of electronic music generic chord progression". But i can't take rating away based on personal taste.

Over all pretty good, there is no 4.5 on the rating to i guess rounding up would be a fair assumption. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the advice. I will be sure to do that. Keep an eye out for a new version.

Not a fan of that odd chord played at 0;6. Good mellow piano, however it sounds a little muddy. this is generally caused by 200-400 htz being too high in the mix, it can easily mud up the song. I could also hear the small gap between piano loops where it stopped for a brief amount of time. A little audio cutting magic can solve that easily. Just take the last part of a sustained chord and cut a small segment from it and lay it over that empty section. possibly give it a little verb to aid in the blend. The whole thing was a bit on the repetitive side, however that is most of the entire r&b genre.

Keep up the work m8

I can tell you live recorded the bass, It was slightly off beat and a little out of tune. For the most part the mix was good, nice and crisp master. I have to give props where they are due. Good job, once i return home tonight i have a feeling i'm going to be whiping out the guitar and playing some funky leads to this.

good job m8 and keep up the good work.

Woaaah ThX ! :)

Loud, louder, peaking and more peaking. Limiters and compression can help with this problem allot. Good song all the same, although i agree that it was a poor choice of instruments. They sound stock and basic for the most part.

keep it up =)

SHABAM! just like that, scouted. Some general eq and mixing work is needed here. Be sure to avoid peaking on your channels. The kick was being drowned out by the loudness of most of the other sounds. be sure to keep it at -6 or -8 db pre master and making it the loudest part of the mix. Everything else falls under the kick in priority. Be sure you are param eqing 2 ( or any spectrogram type eq) each channel and taking off unwanted harmonics or empty areas of black/white noise.
Try adding a white noise filter to the mix, these often help with transitioning and flow of a song. Using bell eq on said white noise or even fruity LP and res can help to establish a rising tone or falling tone in the noise and give you that sense of build up needed before a transition.

I hear you had a off beat bass with a decently high attack. try slightly side chaining that bass to the kick, that usual ends up being more productive at moving things out of the way of the hertz range of the kick than making a high attack off beat bass. I'm not sure why the volume suddenly spikes at 3:50 ish, however volume automation could easily solve this.

The digi bass was a rather harsh choices of basses. There are better sounds out there for basses that can easily be obtained via third party vsts. ( native instruments massive and sylenth 1 are your go getters for basses and leads) I liked the tiny blip lead, it's a pleasant sound that i never truly get tired of.

Pretty good work all the same. You should have been approved by now, as to why you are still unscouted i am uncertain. Keep up the good work

I found the whole song pretty good. The vocals were off pitch on several occasions. The lead/rythm guitar was out of tune on some strings. The bass and rythm guitar were off from the drums also every now and again. ( this all can be eliminated with more practice and time) I wasn't a fan of the slow random noted solo. Here are a list of things you should try to learn, ( they take a bit of time so as i tell my students, keep practising them and they will fall into place.)

String skips
Sweeps-arpegios
Altitudes- arpegio sweep with tap
double handed taps/ single handed
hammer ons/pull offs ( assuming you are already familiar with them)
Harmonics( assuming as well)
Alternate picking( also assuming)
The following modes and corresponding scales-ionian, dorian, phrygian lydian, mixolydian, aeolian, locrain.

Seeing as you are only 16 i can see your band becoming something quite spectacular in the future if you keep working at it.

Sawdust responds:

I find it kind of insulting that you're telling me to learn legato techniques, of all things, but I guess I'll take your word for it, haha.

As for the other stuff, well I've been meaning to learn new scales and such, so I guess it's about time I did.

Thanks for taking the time to review this!
